As part of the Electrical Works Panel for Yarra Valley Water, Jaydo’s Electrical and Engineering Services team was engaged for the delivery of the WPS129 Generator Installation project on the corner of Bridge Inn Road and Cookes Road in Doreen, Victoria.
The scope of works included:
- Installation of a 715kVA diesel standby generator set
- Modification of existing ATS control and monitoring functionality
- Updates to the existing water pump station control logic to incorporate the new generator
control
Jaydo worked with Yarra Valley Water’s operations team to successfully deliver the pump station isolation and commissioning works.
key challenges
- Works were delivered around a live water pump station and underground services
- There were many unknown services and rocks in the ground that impacted the works
- The new generator pad was installed in a very limited space next to Melbourne Water’s DN1700 water main
key innovations
- The placement and orientation of the new generator was important to achieve allowable clearance from all underground and above ground assets, and comply with all standards. Jaydo engaged with
Melbourne Water for the approval of the layout design which was to be close to their DN1700 water main.
