JAYDO was engaged to return the Saltwater wetlands back to its normal operating conditions.

The scope of works included upgrading the existing drainage pipeline that had become  infested with roots creating water level issues upstream in the wetlands. Trees had to be removed above the pipeline to prevent this and a new drainage pipeline and structures was installed. Multiple wetland ponds were also desilted, new access tracks were installed and a network of penstocks were installed to allow the dewatering of the individual ponds.

key challenges

Works continued to be delivered despite the extreme wet months through October and November. JAYDO carried out multiple sequencing pumping to allow the work areas to remain dry as required.

Key outcome

The JAYDO team maintained a standard water level throughout the wetlands allowing the water to progress, whilst avoiding any fluctuating water levels that could damage the surrounding plants within the wetlands.
