Armstrong Creek is the new urban growth area of Geelong with population expected to increase within the next 30 years. Jaydo was awarded the Burvilles Road Recycled Watermain & PRV project by Barwon Water, which will service the future population growth. 

The major scope of works included:

  • Construction of 1.6km of OD559 MSCL recycled water main including 8x HDD trenchless bores
  • Construction of 2x OD337 offtakes and PRV’s at separate sites to supply new development in these areas

key challenges

  • Significant native vegetation along the alignment required large sections of trenchless installation
  • Multiple tie-in’s between each trenchless bored section
  • Coordination of road closures with other contractors, the local schools and the neighbouring cemetary
