Jaydo was contracted by the City of Moonee Valley to complete the works for the Amelia Avenue Drainage Improvement project. The upgrade works were required to alleviate flood issues on Alfred Road and Amelia Avenue. The scope of works included:
- Construction of a new outfall pit over an existing Melbourne Water drain
- Installation of DN300 to DN900 RCP drainage along Amelia Avenue
- Installation of DN525 RCP pipe by trenchless methods between existing houses to connect to smaller drainage on Alfred Street
key challenges
- Restricted access to site area with works being located within residential properties and narrow streets. With restricted access, trucks were unable to be loaded directly parallel to the trench line
- Preparation and completion of the trenchless works between houses and within limited construction corridor
- Construction of the new Melbourne Water pit over an existing Melbourne Water live drain
