Jaydo was engaged by Yarra Valley Water as part of the Pipes and Facilities Panel to deliver dual pipelines of potable and recycled water between the Donnybrook and Kalkallo estates in Melbourne’s north. The pipelines were delivered via HDD drilling underneath the Merri Creek that connects the two estates.
The scope of works included:
- Open cut and trenchless construction of DW and NDW main DN150 for crossing of Merri Creek
- Construction of connection works to both the DW and NDW connections
- Construction of valves and ancillaries
- Reinstatement works
- Commissioning
key challenges
- Horizontal directional drilling was required to be delivered underneath Merri Creek for dual bores. This was completed successfully with no issues.
Key outcomes
- Jaydo used the most suitable and best-fit HDD contractor for the works delivered underneath Merri Creek as it was a high risk part of the project and thus was delivered successfully with no issues
- With Jaydo’s in-house self-performing teams and equipment, we were able to delivery the trenching excavation works ourselves
- The program never deterred from schedule, Jaydo consistent liaised with the client and all relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure the project was delivered on time and to budget
