Jaydo has been engaged by Greater Western Water to deliver the Lancefield Rising Main Renewal involving the renewal of a 6.5km long 200mm PVC rising main.
The scope of works included:
- Design and construct of 1.5km of DN250 PN20 pipeline and connection to pump station
- Construct Only of 5km of DN250 PN16 HDPE pipeline
- 1.5km of trenchless construction through the local township
- Open cut construction for 5km
- Management of all stakeholder and community engagement
As part of our commitment to stakeholder and community engagement for the project, Jaydo and GWW set up a project stall at the local farmers market to speak to the community about the upcoming works and answer any questions they may have had.
key challenges
- Live tie-ins
- Stakeholder and community management
- Flow management for the pump station shutdown
- Existing services both underground and overhead
- Design management and integration with the Construct Only design – there was both a D&C section and a Construct Only section for this project
Key innovations
Jaydo provided a detailed design of the bespoke connection and testing. This allowed 99% of the pipeline to be tested prior to tie-ins, and also allowed a connection point for bypass pumping when we were isolating the pump station.
