Jaydo was awarded the Glen Iris Drainage Improvement project by Melbourne Water Framework Partner, CPB. The project involved construction of an additional drain that was required to increase capacity of Edgar Street main drain, reducing the impacts of flooding on 211 properties in the local catchment area. The new drain is 1.35m in diameter and 920m long. The works also involved construction of new cast in-situ and precast concrete manholes.
key challenges
The works for both sites were located in both busy commercial and residential areas requiring considerable stakeholder management. Jaydo responded to community concerns by providing tailored sequencing of works to suit the requirements of local residents and the community. This included night works undertaken whilst passing the council entrance and local businesses.
